It also goes without saying if smaller online sellers just like with economies of scale but in the opposite. In other words those online sellers spending a hundred million USD monthly expect and receive much better advertising results than smaller online sellers; while it is all relative it goes without saying that a small seller utilizing a paid shopping campaign who may spend a few thousand (USD) per month would surely realize better results on Google Ads from a paid campaign then the same seller would expect from a free Google listing option. Take for example a global retailer who sells 1 million Go-ProÔÇÖ devices per month would not only receive a lower unit cost price but would expect to pay a relatively lower unit price than the single faring wholesaler who sells farming equipment and may sell 10 -20 Go-Pro devices per month to the odd farmer who wants to test the Drone with new farming techniques.

It works the same way. Larger advertisers who have consistently spend 100 million USD on advertising with Google per month operate at least ten paid shopping campaigns would expect and receive better search results than a small online seller spending maybe $1000.00 on advertising per month. I will take it a step further. While Google offers new online sellers free listings believe it or not the search results unfortunately for the seller would not be great I spek of the search results for two major reasons.

  1. The average small online seller that lis listing products free even if Google could easily afford to provide them with fantastic search results think of a 20-30% growth in sales. I donÔÇÖt know about you but having been involved in online selling to list products and increase sales by 20% overnight on a paid shopping campaign ?ácosting me $1000.00 per month is well worth the expense.
  2. With a handful of advertising networks given Google, Microsoft/Bing, Facebook, LinkedIn are huge companies. It would not be the first time Google, Microsoft have proved over the years speaking for myself are smart and speaking for myself in hindsight end up being years ahead of the average company. While, generally speaking if a mature company like Google liquidated many assets ans invested those funds into advertising many would have said the risk for such a huge mature company at this time in its mature putting all its eggs or chips in one basket would be risky unresponsible as they are not start-up and everything being equal are no representing a wide spectrum of investors the days were Google investors were wealthy private investors or hedgy funds who could loose a hundred million USD is long gone. Yet that is exactly what they have done. Over the last 3-5 years they went from 65% of revenue from digital advertising to today with over 92% of global revenue all from DA.

When you add a product please include the direct link (URL) to the products landing page. The link (URL) can be to your website, or marketplace that you use to list your products. As long as the product listed can be purchased from the link (URL)  If you add the wrong link you will probably loose the sale. When listing or adding the product you will see the input box for the product link or URL.

I fear in the medium term most of the small ecommerce companies will have to merge if possible or will no longer be in business in the next 2 -10 years! Unless they work together and come up with a novel smart yet simple solution; and that includes owning their own advertising network.
