We could change the taxonomy from ShopFilter to: Product Type or Post Type. Or we could add 3 more taxonomies for example: Facebook Page: MeX or literally anything. The idea is to take the ecommerce layout with all the benefits of the shopping cart or Product Type Post as its the only post that has a price, has more details about the item unlike a standard post or blog that only has a heading and description or content. It may also have the authors name and or link to other articles or maybe even to their personal social media pages. But it seems to me that the next wave of social media will be directed by what will be termed my channel for example the number of YouTube channels or better still moving picture channels what we mean is video/vlogging but with the upturn in video pages I don’t think having a link to your Facebook page underneath the YouTube page will suffice. I believe while we on the topic of sales or selling we have witnessed how the standard ecommerce or marketplace has gotten fancy, informative its giving the consumer more not due to kindness but because the consumer has such a choice we have sellers looking for value and I know when making a purchase an classical listing with a photo stolen of the web or taken on some cell phone even if it claims to have a 50MP camera we all know not only is that a lie even with the new iPhone or Samsung the claimed 50MP is only a genuine 4.5MP how so called reputable brands do this is beyond me or put another way they are not actually reputable and that is the truth. Not even the point you see if stolen of the web then that is false advertising as even if the product has the same brand it is not the item being shipped, that may sound like I am being too sensitive but think about it if you receive a Chinese copy iPhone and you pay the retail price expecting to get the real device made in China but the image is of the copy then you should have looked closer or at least demanded a better photo then at least you may have noticed a slight difference or some packaging with the CN label in the wrong place. It works both ways as I have seen more and more ‘trusted’ online sellers opening up to all kinds of sellers becuase once a brand like Takealot has earned their reputation then they start opening up to any seller including those sitting in a 3m2 office shared with 20 other Chinese teenagers who purchase their products from the open air flee markets in their home town. Some may say but then you can just retun it that may be true with some sellers but even if you lucky enough to get refunded think about it you wanted the item you have already waited 2 weeks thanks to the lower price that means if you decide to purchase from another store you may not be able to as your money is sitting in PayPal’s interest earning account and they are in no hurry to refund you. Even if they do refund you they do not they only refund Takealot so now you have waited 4 weeks the companies concerned have made more money from yours and others interest payments then they make in commission. In other words it pays them if you return the item and hopefully they do that ‘favour’ many more times thanks to the interest plus you can only purchase from their store so giving you a return is in their interest not yours. Getting back to the new online seller. While authors writing great articles, are not the same as breaking news even if its fake news video is even better but one may be considered better only for a time then we get to multi-channels we have fancy huge ecommerce stores using UGC. Si in sales and wholesale selling will now be multi-channel the mix of the classical listing plus non subjective comparisons plus high tech discussions explaining what CPU is and Ram and then unboxing and testing and the list continues. So if I cannot have several listing forms what about using the same one for all types of content – I still think classical listings will come first with other content on the sideliners. It is not the same with social media even if you followed and people spy on you you may find an advert that makes sense in the right place to catch you but that doesn’t give you all the channels and all the products on offer like a great marketplace or ad network subject to having all the content types in arms reach.
